Healthcards shows published public-health statistics for areas of England. It is a reference site: there are no accounts, no profiles, and nothing you type here is held about you.

The short version

  • No accounts, no sign-in, no mailing list.
  • We do not store the postcode, place name or location you search with.
  • Analytics are first-party and do not follow you around the web.
  • We do not sell or share personal data.
  • If advertising is introduced, it will only run after you agree — and you can change your mind.

What we process

  • Finding your area. When you search, the postcode or place name you enter is sent to postcodes.io (a public service built on the ONS Postcode Directory) so we can match it to a local authority. We do not store or log it. That request is handled under postcodes.io’s own terms.
  • Browser location (optional). If you press the location button, your device shares coordinates once, they are converted to the nearest postcode to identify your area, and then discarded. It is never stored, never shared, and never used for anything else. You can decline and type instead.
  • Analytics. We use a self-hosted, first-party analytics tool to count visits and see which pages are useful. It sets no advertising identifiers, does not track you across other sites, and IP addresses are anonymised. You can object at any time using the link in the footer.
  • Server logs. Our host keeps short-lived technical logs for security and reliability. These are not used to build profiles.

Cookies and consent

  • Essential storage only: the small amount needed to remember your cookie choice and to make the site work.
  • Analytics can run without cookies, so they do not require consent and cannot follow you.
  • If advertising is added, those cookies require your consent first, and nothing non-essential loads until you agree.
  • Use Cookie settings in the footer to see and change your choice at any time.

Your rights

  • Under UK data protection law you can ask for access to, correction of, or erasure of your personal data, object to processing, and complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ico.org.uk).
  • Because this site holds no personal data about you, most requests resolve quickly: there is normally nothing to retrieve.
  • We keep aggregate analytics for as long as they are useful for understanding which pages help people.
